The 2022 comedy ‘Thai Massage‘ is all set to have its premiere on OTT on the 7th of January. The film had its theatrical release on November 11 last year and its streaming rights were bagged by Netflix.
‘Thai Massage’ is set in Ujjain and Thailand and it is a slice of life comedy flick. The story follows a traditional elderly man from a rather conservative family who wants to have a little fun at the dusk of his life. The lead is played by Gajraj Rao and other important characters are played by Divyendu Sharma of Mirzapur fame, Rajpal Yadav and Sunny Hinduja.
‘Thai Massage’ is directed by Mangesh Hadawale of the Marathi film industry who has previously directed Marathi movies like ‘Tingya’, ‘Dekh Indian Circus’, Bhanshali’s ‘Malaal’ and many others.
Thai Massage is the story of Atmaram who has spent his life abiding by social norms and morale and now he wants to quench his own sexual desires. But he suffers from erectile dysfunction and he can see no way of achieving his sexual goals where he lives. His image of a pious man stands between him and his desires. Divyendu Sharma’s character comes to him as a saviour with all solutions.
The film is somewhat similar to the 2014 film ‘The Shaukeens’ starring Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor and Piyush Mishra where three elderly friends go to Thailand to have some fun and save themselves from their boring lives. The premise is extremely similar to the movie ‘Thai Massage’.
If you have somehow missed watching the movie in theaters, now is the time to watch it. Watch it on Netflix after 7th January if you are a fan of comedies.
