Thangalan & Kanguva Can’t Be Released Unless Studio Pays 1Cr For Each!

The Madras High Court has released a statement that the upcoming movies ‘Thangalan’ and ‘Kanguva’ Cannot be released in theaters until the studio deposits rupees one crore for each movie.

Studio Green, the studio behind the two movies, have unsolved debt issues and it has been five long years since it has remained unresolved. Studio Green is supposed to pay 10.35 crores in total with interest but the delay from the makers leave the Court no other way than to stop the release of the upcoming movies.

However, fans are not very happy with the news and they think the matter could have been dealt with in some other ways. Depriving fans of such hyped movies is not something they can cope with easily. Suriya has nor had a release in a long time and his Kanguva comes with high hopes. Vikram’s ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ has been delayed long enough and now if his ‘Thangalan’ Gets postponed too it will be grave injustice to the fans.

KE Gnanavel Raja, the proprietor of Studio Green had business with a realtor and financier named Arjundas Sunderdas. He owed him this much money for a long time but did not pay back and Arjundas passed away after some time. But his financing business is taken over by an official assignee and he has proceeded to the Madras High Court with the case. The studio will have to pay the assignee 2 crores to the assignee ro ensure theatrical release for both movies.
