Aha Video, the Regional Telugu Exclusive OTT Platform which has planned to try the hybrid model of theatrical and OTT release for their upcoming film, Thank you Brother had to backtrack due to the COVID Second Wave. The movie presented by Aha was supposed to release in theaters on April 30th. They wanted to release the film on their OTT platform next with a short theatrical window.
But now, they have dropped the plan and the movie will release directly on their OTT platform on May 7th. The OTT platform is now planning extensive promotions for the film. Thank You Brother becomes the first Telugu film to skip its theatrical release in the COVID second wave. It has to be seen if more films will follow the trait in the coming days.
Starring Ashwin Viraj and Anasuya Bhardwaj, Thank you Brother is set during the pandemic where the pregnant lady and a ruthless millionaire share an unpleasant experience in an elevator initially but later, the same man has to help her deliver after her waters break when they get trapped in the elevator. A newcomer Ramesh Raparthi has directed the movie. Anasuya has been receiving so many accolades for such a role without any inhibitions.
