Thanks To Maestro, Nithiin Eager To Take The OTT Route

It has been quite a while since Nithiin scored a credible box office hit. All of his recent films including Rang De and Check were duds at the box office. His latest outing Maestro skipped theatrical released and premiered directly on OTT. Disney+ Hotstar had reportedly paid a fancy price for the direct to OTT rights of the film. Maestro was produced by Nithiin’s family members and he personally oversaw the production process. The film was made on a moderate budget and it was sold for a fairly good price. Nithiin is said to have made a sizeable profit from Maestro.

After analysing the investment-return prospect of Maestro, Nithiin has apparently come to a conclusion that OTT is the way to go. He is now raring to take up more OTT projects. He intends to produce and act in more OTT films and web series’ in the days to come. The idea is to produce content on a rather moderate budget and then sell the same to OTT platforms for sizeable profits.

It is heard that Nithiin has asked his director friends to come up with new subjects that cater to the OTT audience. He is looking to set up projects that can be made on a low budget and require a relatively lesser number of working days. He is acting accordingly.

Nithiin is currently busy with Macharla Niyojakavargam and in all likelihood, his immediate next project will be a direct to OTT one. The likes of Rana, Venkatesh, and others are lining up OTT projects and it appears to be that Nithiin is the new addition to the list.
