The 80th Golden Globes Awards will be streamed live on Lionsgate Play in India, Malaysia and Philippines. The awards show will be live on the 11th of January. It has films like ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Tár’, ‘The Fablemans’ etc competing for the award of the best film. There are actors like Austin Butler, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Anya Taylor Joy, Emma Thompson, Diego Calva, Colin Farell who have a chance of winning in different categories.
As you already know, S. S Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘RRR’ has won two nominations in the prestigious awards being the first South Indian film to do so. M. M Keeravani’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ has been nominated in the best original song category and the movie has been nominated in the best non-English language film category. There is no doubt that there is excitement among fans and they do not want to miss this award show this year. There has not been a great popularity of the Golden Globes Awards Show in India, but when there is such a big chance of an Indian film to win, there will be a lot of people in India watching the livestream this year.
35 year old comedian and actor Jerrod Carmichael will be hosting the awards. He made his debut as a host last year on Saturday Night Live. Hollywood Foreign Press Association has also announced the names of the award presenters and that include Ana de Armas, legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, Jamie Lee Curtis, Colman Domingo, Ana Gasteyer, Billy Porter etc. The HFPA has also announced that closer and producer Chloe Flower will be releasing a new song, ‘Golden Hour’ here. Hollywood Foreign Press Association is the non-profit organization that hosts and holds the Golden Globes Awards.
