Awaited or not is skeptical but there is no doubt about the buzz of Zoya Akhtar’s next film The Archies. The film is a Netflix India original and there have hardly been so many reactions to any original OTT film before.
Regardless, Zoya Akhtar is known for groundbreaking characters like those in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Gully Boy. This time however the challenge would be to Indianise the already created characters in The Archies.
Months back when Netflix India announced the cast of The Archies then it sparked a tsunami of reactions on the web. Some people loved it for its nostalgic value, some people were interested in the Zoya factor, and some were excited to see so many industry insiders coming together.
Simultaneously, a lot of people hated it for promoting nepotism and alleged it to be too American for the Indian masses.
But all these questions seem to be getting answered very soon. The Archies has wrapped filming and it will very soon arrive on Netflix India.
Along with the announcement, the platform revealed the set photos which had all the cast and crew celebrating and cutting a cake.
The movie has some editing stuff left and we will be able to enjoy The Archies soon on Netflix India.
