Netflix India’s latest offering is going to be The Archies. The movie directed by Zoya Akhtar is perhaps the most well-promoted film that Netflix ever made. Regardless, The Archies stars Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal and Yuvraj Menda.
So what is so special about the film? Last year, Netflix announced the film and it came out to be a massive rage. People gave highly polarising opinions and it was a feast for Netflix as it was the talk of the town. Slowly, Netflix went on promoting the film and it actually got a very nice buzz through multiple events such as the TUDUM festival and Geeked Week.
The trailer and songs are okayish and not everyone’s cup of tea. It is like that of Gehraiyaan, an entirely different kind of album altogether. If you have the taste of it, then you would love it otherwise not.
Now that the movie is just a few hours away from getting released, Netflix India organised a big premiere event where many major stars such as Hrithik Roshan and more were present to add the limelight.
Just to make things more youth centric, Netflix has partnered with Meta to launch some stickers based on The Archies.
Looks like Netflix has put everything in it and it all depends on how the film resonates with the Indian audience. As of now, the film has not stood out in any specific manner. Last year, people went gaga over the visuals and songs of Qala which were astoundingly beautiful, but there is nothing as such in The Archies yet.
