The Batman: Why Barry Keoghan Is In Robert Pattinson Starrer?

SPOILER WARNING! Proceed at your own risk!
Matt Reeves’ latest DC project, The Batman, is now playing in theatres worldwide. The movie has received an outstanding response from both critics and fans so far. Most of them praised Robert Pattinson as the on-screen World’s Greatest Detective. The actor has bestowed the darkest and grittiest version of The Caped Crusader to the fans. Apart from him, Paul Dano shined in his role as The Riddler. Yes, he may not have reached the level of Heath Ledger in this one. But he certainly gave a creepy and insane performance as the Master of Riddles. But many viewers have noticed Barry Keoghan’s appearance during the final moments of the movie. Why is he a part of this Batverse? What character will he play in this WB franchise? Let’s find out!

The Riddler gets imprisoned in Arkham Asylum for all of his terrible crimes in the movie. Batman ruins his mega plan to tear apart Gotham for good. As a result, he starts blaming himself for the failed execution of his sinister plan. Out of nowhere, he hears a mysterious voice who claims to be his friend. That voice belonged to Keoghan. And the moment he mentioned ‘Clown’, everything became quite clear. Yes, ladies and gents! Barry Keoghan is your new Joker!

Initial reports claimed that WB hired Keoghan to play a struggling GCPD officer named Stanley Merkel. However, there were also some rumours hinting at the actor’s possible appearance as the Clown Prince of Gotham City in the movie. It seems like the second scenario was not just a rumour after all.

Will we see more of Barry Keoghan in the upcoming Batman instalments? Only DC and Warner Bros can answer this one. The Batman starring Robert Pattinson is playing exclusively in theatres.
