“The Big Bull” Finally Arrives, Ajay Devgn Drops The First Look!

By Binged Bureau - Mar 16, 2021 @ 12:03 pm

After a long wait, it looks like The Big Bull is finally here. Almost a year later since the announcement of the release of the movie was made, makers will be releasing the movie on Disney+ Hotstar finally on the 8th of April, 2021. Also, it has kept its promise of releasing it on the streaming service even when the theatres are now jumping back to life. The movie is produced by Ajay Devgn, Anand Pandit, Vikram Sharma and Kumar Mangat Pathak. The movie is directed by Kookie Gulati.

The movie will be retelling the story of stockbroker Harshad Mehta, who ran one of the biggest scams in the history of India’s stock exchanges and also the Indian Banking System. The scam that ran from the 1980s till the 1990s has been named in the film as the “Mother of All Scams”. The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan as Harshad Mehta himself. Ileana D’Cruz plays the role of business journalist and author Sucheta Dalal and Nikita Dutta will be seen essaying the role of Jyoti Mehta, wife of Harshad Mehta. Apart from them Ram Kapoor, Sumit Vats, Sohum Shah, Lekha Prajapati will be seen in major supporting roles.

The movie was supposed to come sooner than this. The movie’s announcement was made by Disney+ Hotstar as a part of their “Hotstar Multiplex” scene that also released various other movies directly to digital during last year’s pandemic. There were many theories going around as to why there was such a delay, but the most definite one seems like it was due to the release of the webseries “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story”. Both these follow the scam and journey of the same man. Releasing it directly one after the other wouldn’t have pulled much audience to the movie.

The movie’s teaser was launched and it was introduced by Ajay Devgn. Abhishek Bachchan looks will give you the impression of someone from the 90s who has made it big in life. It will definitely pull one back to that very era. Given how the scammed work and how Harshad Mehta brought in an enormous amount of money, and how he openly displayed the loopholes of the Indian Banking System as well as the Stock Exchange, it will be interesting to see how this is pulled off. It was this very scam that made the government aware and later made SEBI and other teams work on fixing all of these loopholes.
