Netflix India has tried to create a diverse base of titles in its vast library and things are about to get even crazier with the next instalment of The Big Day. The Big Day: Collection 2 takes a look at three more extravagant Indian weddings.
The big fat Indian wedding has always been a source of great pride for Indians and has been depicted multiple times whether in movies or documentaries. Netflix India themselves have had a keen relationship with the glamorous Indian wedding and everything that goes behind it. I’m sure you all must be familiar with Seema Aunty by now as she used to guide her clients to find the perfect partner in an arranged marriage.
The first edition of the Big Day had released on 14th Feb and it looks like Netflix was impressed with the response as they have decided to drop another season in such a short period. Collection 1 was directed by Ashish Sawhny, Aakriti Mehta and Faraz Ansari. Anyone who has managed a huge function like a marriage can vouch for the fact that it is never easy and things can get a bit out of hand at times. (At least most of them would agree to it)
Despite all the hassles and chaos, the Indian wedding is a beautiful way to showcase some of the rich culture and traditions that are prevalent in our society. Marriage is not just the union of two people but that of two families and is meant to be celebrated on a grand scale.
The Big Day: Collection 2 will premiere on Netflix on 7th April.
