Fans of the crime thriller series ‘The Blacklist’ have reason to be delighted. The series will be back with its tenth season soon. In a tad bit of disappointment for fans, NBC has announced that ‘The Blacklist’ Season 10 will be the final season for the popular show. Whether fans are prepared to bid goodbye forever to Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) yet, is another matter altogether.
‘The Blacklist’ Season 10 is gearing up for release, as early as this week. The first episode of the new season will premiere on US broadcaster NBC on 26th February, which is the coming Sunday. Fans of ‘The Blacklist’ in India needn’t be disappointed, coz the show will premiere simultaneously in India too, on Netflix, which has the international streaming rights for the show. Given the time difference, ‘The Blacklist’ Season 10 Episode 1, titled ‘The Night Owl’, will premiere on Netflix India on Monday morning, which is 27th February.
For those who don’t know, ‘The Blacklist’ centres on Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader), an ex-naval intelligence officer turned wanted fugitive, who turns himself in, and volunteers to help the FBI bring down some of the most wanted and hi-profile criminals in the US, names he has on his ‘blacklist’.
The final season of ‘The Blacklist’ will see Reddington’s covert role as an FBI informant facing exposure. Former Blacklisters will unite against him in their lethal desire for revenge — testing Red and the FBI task force as never before. The synopsis for ‘The Blacklist’ Season 10 Episode 1 ‘The Night Owl’ reads – “Six months after Wujing’s escape from custody, Reddington mysteriously resurfaces in Manhattan amidst an explosion; when a former blacklister is found at the scene, the task force begins to investigate a larger conspiracy at play.”
Besides James Spader, ‘The Blacklist’ Season 10 will star Diego Klattenhoff, Hisham Tawfiq, Anya Banerjee and Harry Lennix, among others.
