Amongst the three principal cast members of Amazon Prime Video’s superhero parody show ‘The Boys’ Season 3 are Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, and Jensen Ackles. These actors took to their respective social media handles to inform about the conclusion of the much-awaited ‘The Boys’ Season 3 filming schedule, in their own unique ways.
New Zealand actor Karl Urban, who is also known for his role in the slick actioner ‘Judge Dredd’, announced filming wrap for ‘The Boys’ third season through his Instagram handle. “And that’s a wrap on @theboystv season 3”, he wrote along with a photo of him in an airplane. Karl Urban plays the role of Billy Butcher, who is the titular vigilante group’s fearless leader.
Karl Urban’s on-screen partner-in-crime Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie Campbell – the reluctant member of the vigilante group, also made his fans aware of the conclusion of production for the show’s third season. His post was marked with the words “That’s a wrap on Season 3! Thank you to everyone who worked on this season. This thumb is for YOU.”
The third and the most interesting post was by ‘Supernatural’ star Jensen Ackles, who will be seen as Soldier Boy in the ‘The Boys’ forthcoming season. He reminded his fans about the uncanny coincidence regarding the last date on the sets of ‘The Boys’ being September 10, 2021, which is the same as previous year’s September 10 – his last day on the set of ‘Supernatural’. Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy character is being described as the ‘Homelander before Homelander’, who is a World War II superhero who is brought out of retirement.
While not much is known about the ‘The Boys’ Season 3 plot details, the opening episode of the show is titled ‘Payback’, which is incidentally the name of the infamous superhero group which Soldier Boy is a part of. So, the first episode will most likely revolve around Jensen Ackles’ character and perhaps his back story and the group’s other members.
‘The Boys’ Season 3 will ostensibly comprise eight episodes. Now that the show’s filming has wrapped up, the audiences might expect ‘The Boys’ Season 3 to premiere on Amazon Prime Video sometime in the year 2022.
