The Boys Season 3 Teaser Trailer Is a Fun Roller Coaster Ride

Superpowers, people blowing up, sex, chaos and pop rock – this is the teaser trailer of the upcoming season of Prime Video’s The Boys. Amazon revealed their first extended look of the Season 3 of the show. And as promised by Karl Urban, who plays Billy Butcher, it is bigger and a fun roller coaster ride.

The trailer reveals what was indicated from the teaser poster – Billy has superpowers. It shows him taking Compound V. The other major reveal is the highly anticipated look of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy. Jensen Ackles starred in the CW’s Supernatural. The trailer is set to Imagin Dragon’s song – ‘Bones’ – the song released a day earlier from the band’s upcoming album, Mercury – Act 2. Apart from this, the video highlights various recurring characters from season 1 and 2 – such as Hughie, Starlight, Deep, Black Noir, Ryan and of course Homelander.

The teaser was released during a South by Southwest panel on The Boys. South by Southwest is an annual conference which celebrates tech, film and music industries held in Austin, Texas, United States. Check out an image of the cast of The Boys at the conference:

Showrunner Eric Kripke, at the conference, said that the first 10 minutes of the show is the craziest thing anybody has ever done. He also revealed that the mysterious Black Noir will remove his mask for the first time in season 3. About the show’s plot, Kripke mentioned that the new season in a subtle way will be about the Covid pandemic. Ackles mentions that the season somehow manages to tackle Herogasm. Herogasm is a spin-off comic series set around a superhero orgy festival. Eric Kripke, in 2020, had confirmed Season 3 would be adapting Herogasm.

Kripke also provided an update on the show’s second spin-off series after The Boys Presents: Diabolical released earlier this month. Filming on the series will begin next month and “the college show is a relationship show, but with our spin, so there’s weird sex and all sorts of drugs.”

The teaser trailer clearly sets some high expectations from the show and fans will be hoping it lives up to it. Check out the trailer below:
