The Cast of Black Adam: How It Is Shaping Up So FarLooks like the cast of Black Adam is really shaping up. As we all know the upcoming Dwayne Johnson starrer superhero spin-off of Shazam! is already in production, we found out recently who else has joined the cast.

Those who are unfamiliar with Black Adam, it’s an American superhero film based on the anti-hero Black Adam created by DC Comics who is one of the archenemies of Shazam. He was imprisoned for 5,000 years in the comics and fought his way to modern times to challenge the hero and his Marvel Family associates.

Now, it was long established that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will portray the role of Black Adam since there was a talk of bringing the character in the second installment of Shazam! Since 2017. But as it was announced that Black Adam will be getting his own film in 2019, fans became overjoyed.

Now, talking about the supporting characters, we have Aldis Hodge from One Night in Miami has been cast as Hawkman aka Carter Hall, an archaeologist who is the reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian prince Khufu and a member of the Justice Society of America. Apart from him, we will also have Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher who is known for changing his atomic makeup to change his size and strength. We also will have Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Sarah Shahi as Dr. Adrianna Tomaz and Pierce Brosnan have been cast as Doctor Fate who is the founding member of the Justice Society of America. Aldis Hodge has already shared an image on Instagram of his Hawkman trailer door for the movie to commemorate the first day of filming for him.

The filming of Black Adam was expected to begin in July 2020 for a December, 2021 release, but it got delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. But now, as most of the governments are gradually lifting the pandemic norms, the production of the film has already started. The film will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra who previously directed the cult horror film House of Wax, and will be produced by DC Films in association with New Line Cinema, Seven Bucks Productions, and FlynnPictureCo.

Black Adam is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 29, 2022 and the way the cast is shaping up, the fans will be eagerly waiting for the anti-hero to unleash his wrath after 5000 years of imprisonment.
