A Simple Favour 2, the sequel to Paul Fieg’s 2018 dark comedy starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, is finally on its way to our screens. With filming beginning in Spring this year, it is set to release exclusively on Prime Video. Along with Lively and Kendrick, Henry Golding and Andrew Rannells from the original cast are also officially returning and reprising their roles.
Rumours about the sequel have been floating around since 2022. It was however, only today that it was made official by Amazon MGM Studios.
The movie will be set in Capri, Italy where Blake Lively’s character is going to get married to a rich Italian businessman. Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) and Emily (Blake Lively) will head to the island for the lavish and extravagant wedding. Not only that, the murder and betrayal that is going to ensue throughout the movie are expected to follow the lead of the prequel.
Unlike the theatre release of the first movie, A Simple Favour 2 will stream directly on Prime Video. With numerous parameters of the movie like the cast and aesthetics remaining the same, it is but hoped that it lives up to the hype of the comedic mystery aura of the first movie!
