The Complete List Of Oscars 2023 Winners, Including ‘Naatu Naatu’!

The Oscar Awards 2023 took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles last night, US time (early today morning, India time). Jimmy Kimmel was back as the host at the 95th Academy Awards, the third time that he has hosted the awards.

As expected, two films swept the Oscars Awards 2023 – last year’s breakout hit, ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ won an impressive seven Oscars, including crucial ones such as Best Film, Direction, Screenplay and Best Actress. Netflix’s seminal anti-war film ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’ won four Oscars, including Best International Feature Film.

India made its presence felt at the Oscars, and strongly at that. Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga won the Oscar for ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ in the Best Documentary Short Film category. And then ‘Naatu Naatu’ created history by winning the Oscar Award for Best Original Song, bringing accolades for its music director M.M. Keeravani.

The stage was set with a resounding live performance of ‘Naatu Naatu’, the electrifying number from S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. The live performance by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava brought the house down, and earned them a standing ovation from the élite crowd gathered at the Dolby Theater.

The Oscars 2023 made several new records too. Michelle Yeoh made history by becoming the first Asian woman to win the Best Actress Oscar Award. Ruth E. Carter became the first Black woman to win multiple Oscars in any category. She won the Oscar for Best Costume Design for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It was her second Oscar overall – her first Oscar award came in 2019 for Black Panther.
