The Crown Season 6 To Pay The Ultimate Tribute To Queen Elizabeth II

The Crown Season 6 will reportedly feature every actress that has portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in the show. It means that the final season will feature Claire Foy (who played the young monarch), Olivia Colman (who portrayed her in middle age), and Imelda Staunton (who plays the old Queen). Apart from these ladies, Viola Prettejohn will play a younger version of the Queen. Prettejohn is the newest addition to the show’s cast.

Prominent news platform, The Sun, has disclosed that makers have already shot some scenes with Foy and Colman for Season 6. Netflix is yet to make an official announcement about this scenario.

One of the TV insiders revealed to the Sun that the idea of bringing back all Queen Elizabeth actresses was devised last year, around the time when the monarch met her demise.

Prettejohn’s version of the Queen will focus on her young days during the events of World War II before her coronation. Foy played the female monarch in the first two seasons. As for Colman, she portrayed the Queen in Seasons 3 and 4.

The show serves as a flagship series for Netflix. However, it has also given birth to significant controversies due to the inaccurate portrayal of many characters and arcs. But the thing that stands out the most in this series is the phenomenal performances of the actors, particularly of Foy, Colman, and Staunton, who bagged a Leading Actress BAFTA nomination last year for her exceptional performance in the fifth season.

Netflix is yet to reveal the release window of The Crown Season 6. All we know is that the final season will premiere this year. Stay tuned for more updates.
