The movie is being produced by Todd Crites, Jackson Nguyen, Greg Renker, and Gregoire Gensollen from Turn Left Productions, along with Daniels. The screenplay is being written by Elijah Bynum and David Coggeshall, in collaboration with Daniels.

Previously known as “Demon House,” the thriller is based on the real-life experiences of Latoya Ammons and her family, who claim to have been victims of demonic possession lasting over two years. These events were witnessed and documented by various authorities, including the Department of Child Services and the Gary Police Department.

The haunting began with strange occurrences and escalated to alarming episodes, leading to the involvement of medical staff and failed exorcism attempts.

And if you’re curious about the cast, singer Andra Day plays Latoya Ammons, renamed as Ebony, in the film based on her experiences. Octavia Spencer was initially cast but later replaced by Mo’Nique. Glenn Close, Rob Morgan, Caleb McLaughlin, and Aunjanue Ellis were part of the original cast. Additional cast members include Omar Epps, Demi Singleton, Miss Lawrence, and others.

No specific dates have been announced by Netflix regarding the release, but it will be gracing the platform next year.
