Netflix India has released the trailer for its upcoming documentary short ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, a unique story from South India. Helmed by Kartiki Gonsalves, ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ will premiere only on Netflix on 8th December, 2022.
Set in the majestic beauty of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu, India in the year 2019, the trailer shows an elderly couple taking care of a baby elephant Raghu just like their own child.
From waking him up in the morning to giving him a bath, taking him out for walk to playing with him, lives of Bomman and Bellie revolve around their foster baby elephant Raghu. Everything about ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ feels surreal especially the picturesque aesthetic of the scenery and the adorable bond between humans and animals.
Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ follows Bomman and Bellie, a couple in South India, devote their lives to caring for an orphaned baby elephant named Raghu, forging a family like no other. The short film will show how the arrival of a gentle giant changed the everyday life of the couple who decided to foster him.
‘The Elephant Whisperers’ is produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain under their Sikhya Entertainment banner. The Tamil documentary short film captures a beautiful and tender story about those extraordinary unspoken bonds.
Set in a peaceful natural rural background, ’The Elephant Whisperers’ will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 8th December, 2022.
