Steven Spielberg’s acclaimed film ‘The Fabelmans’ is finally set to release on streaming on Indian OTT, much to the delight of film enthusiasts in India. Homegrown streaming giant SonyLIV has grabbed the streaming rights for ‘The Fabelmans’. The multiple Golden Globes winner premieres on SonyLIV on 11th August, which is this Friday.
‘The Fabelmans’ has enamoured viewers across the world, receiving rave reviews from audiences, critics and industry folk alike. The film won the coveted Best Motion Picture – Drama Award and Best Director Award for Steven Spielberg at the Golden Globes 2023. ‘The Fabelmans’ also won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival.
‘The Fabelmans’ released in theatres in the US back in November 2022, and in Indian theatres early this year. However, if you missed watching the excellent film in the theatres, then you now have a second chance to catch the film, albeit on the small screen.
Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Fabelmans’ is a semi-autobiographical story, based on the master storyteller’s own adolescence and first years as a filmmaker. Set in post-World War II era Arizona, the film centres on the fictional character of young Sammy Fabelman, who falls in love with movies after his parents take him to see “The Greatest Show on Earth.” Armed with a camera, Sammy starts to make his own films at home, much to the delight of his supportive mother. When Sammy discovers a shattering secret about his family, the power of films also helps him see the truth about his dysfunctional family and those around him.
‘The Fabelmans’ stars Gabriel LaBelle as Sammy, alongside Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, and Judd Hirsch in supporting roles. The critically acclaimed movie has been directed by Steven Spielberg, and produced by Tony Kushner, Kristie Macosko Krieger and Steven Spielberg.
