Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is the latest international project to be affected by the rapidly spreading scourge of Coronavirus. The series, which was being filmed in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic, had to call off shoot after the Czech government placed restrictions on movie screenings, elementary and high school classes, sports matches and cultural events, including the Prague Film Festival, amidst Coronavirus concerns.
The series had just begun filming at location in Prague last week, but with the ban in place, there was nothing the cast and crew could do but return to Atlanta.
Coronavirus fears notwithstanding, this is the second cancellation of a shooting schedule for the series. It had also been forced to cancel filming in Puerto Rico in January, when the island nation was hit by its biggest earthquake in a century.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the two titular characters, and is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in August.
