The Family Man 2: Does Karma Come Back To Bite Srikant In The A**?

By Binged Bureau - Jan 26, 2021 @ 08:01 pm

The Family Man has been the biggest hit for Amazon Prime Video in its Indian Originals content space. For that reason alone, The Family Man Season 2 is the most anticipated season of any shows until now. However, everyone’s been raving about Samantha Akkineni’s entry in The Family Man 2 as primary antagonist, and about Srikant Tiwari’s supposed ‘Missing In Action’ status in Season 2. But no one is talking about the ticking time bomb from Season 1. Will Karma, and that ticking time bomb, come back to bite Srikant Tiwari in the a**?

Intrigued? Stay with us, as we refresh your mind. Warning: spoilers for The Family Man Season 1 ahead.

In The Family Man Season 1, Srikant Tiwari is shown to work for the Threat Analysis and Surveilance Cell (TASC), a fictional intelligence agency, and an offshoot of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). In the course of his investigations into a scooter bomb planted at Kaala Ghoda, Mumbai, Srikant zeroes in on Kareem and his two friends, college students of Victoria College, who seem to him to be behind the terror attack.

In reality, sending Srikant on the trail of the three students is an elaborate ploy on the part of terrorists to throw Srikant off their tracks, as they mastermind a sinister conspiracy against the country. Srikant falls for the trick. His half-baked investigation and ham-handed ways leads to him shooting Kareem and his friends dead. He later learns that the three boys are innocent. Though he is remorseful for his actions and for causing the death of three innocent Muslim boys, the matter is shushed up by TASC, and the three boys are branded as terrorists.

However, there exists one piece of definite and crucial evidence that can implicate Srikant in the cold-blooded killing of the three innocents. Kareem had been wearing a body-cam at the time he was mercilessly hunted down by the TASC team. The camera had captured everything that took place, and it is this camera that is the aforementioned ticking time bomb of the story. After his death, Kareem’s girlfriend Jonali suspects something is not quite right. She goes out to hunt for the camera, which is hidden in an abandoned car at the place of Kareem’s killing. As Jonali is about to get hold of it, the episode ends —leaving us on tenterhooks. This crucial part of The Family Man is still hanging on a cliffhanger, and we just can’t wait to find out what will happen next.

The Family Man Season 2 will definitely address the issue of Kareem’s killing at the hand of TASC and Srikant Tiwari. So, will Karma catch up with our genial family man in Season 2 ? Will Srikant have to serve out a sentence, be suspended, or worse – be banished to a punishment posting?

Is that why Srikant Tiwari is missing in action, as is evidenced by the trailer and teasers? We know that his family is in the dark about his spy alter ego and his hidden alternate life. The trailers show that his wife and kids don’t have a clue where he is. The tagline for Season 2 is also “Srikant kahan hai?” or “Where is Srikant?” So, has Karma come back to bite Srikant Tiwari in the a** and that’s why he is MIA?

While that seems to be the most obvious reason for his disappearance and continued absence in the current plot, we can only wait for The Family Man Season 2 to drop on Amazon Prime Video, to know the truth.

Stay tuned to Binged.com for more stories on Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man Season 2.
