The Family Man 2 Faces Brand New Threats Just Days After Release!

By Binged Bureau - Jun 07, 2021 @ 04:06 pm

The Family Man 2 finally dropped on Amazon Prime Video on the scheduled date of 4th June, successfully without any blockades, despite the online protests and petitions to ban. Ever since the season dropped viewers and fans have been bowled over by the performances of Manoj Bajpayee, Samantha Akkineni and everyone else involved. The Family Man 2 has been officially declared a super hit, and even after 3 days of its release, it still is a trending topic.

Well, it is a known fact that before the release of the show, The Family Man Season2 received a lot of flak especially from a certain Tamil population that demanded a ban on the show. They believed that Tamils and the Eelam Tamil struggle will be shown in a very bad light, which obviously will hurt sentiments of Tamils everywhere. But, as the season dropped many saw what the show was about, and things changed for the good.

The show has received rave reviews and has been praised immensely, especially Samantha Akkineni’s character, who mainly faced the brunt of the controversy before the release of the show. Everything took a 360 degree turn after the release and just like how the creators Raj & DK, along with Manoj Bajpayee mentioned, people have absolutely loved Samantha’s character Raji, and the entire plot of this season.

But, controversies are far from getting over for the season as right now veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja have joined the likes of political leaders Seeman, as they ask Amazon Prime Video to take down the show or they might have to face severe consequences. Bharathiraja in his announcement mentioned how Indian Government failed to issue a ban on the show and that show not only hurts Tamil sentiments, but Muslim as well as Bengali sentiments.

NTK leader Seeman on the other hand has gone ahead and mentioned that if the streaming giant fails to remove the show, Tamils everywhere will start boycotting Amazon and the products it sells. While this happens Bharathiraja has gone on to say that the scenes in the show that’s related to Tamil struggle have been created by people that have no idea about what actually happened in the Eelam Tamil struggle or the history of Tamil struggle.

While many have been fighting for Tamil representation on the show, some now have come up and stated about the representation of India’s Prime Minister on the show, who is known as “Basu”, clearly indicating that the PM is a Bengali in the show. This has angered a few bunches because they have felt the representation is inappropriate, given who is the PM of the country at the moment.

Well, seeing everything one needs to understand that the story is highly fictional, and in a fictional story, it doesn’t really matter much who and how a character is portrayed as they represent nothing in reality. The community of filmmakers needs to support one another in their endeavours and the challenges they face. Only this will lead to experimentation in Indian filmmaking scene or else we will definitely be stuck with action flicks that defy gravity and out of the world romantic movies that make absolutely no sense in today’s time and age.
