Season 2 of Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man is one of the most awaited shows in India right now. With Mirzapur 2 done, dusted and out of the way, binge-watchers and web show junkies are waiting with breathless anticipation for The Family Man Season 2 to land on Amazon Prime Video. There was strong buzz earlier that the new season of The Family Man will premiere on Amazon Prime in December. Which is why what we are about to reveal may come as a heavy-duty dampener to fans’ enthusiasm and expectant hope.
As per hints from sources connected to the show, The Family Man Season 2 is certain to miss its December release date. The new season is apparently loaded with VFX, work on which hasn’t been completed to creators Raj & DK’s full satisfaction. There is still some VFX work pending, for the show to be deemed ready for release. It has therefore been delayed by several months, until the work is complete.
Taking into consideration all of the above, it is very likely that the release of The Family Man Season 2 will be delayed to February 2021. Nothing is set in stone though, and we may even see the show premiering in January 2021. But it is confirmed that it is simply not happening in December, as of now.
The Family Man is one of the highest rated Indian shows on OTT. It stars Manoj Bajpayee as Shrikant Tiwari, a spy who works for a secret government intelligence unit. The show is loved by viewers for its perfect and wholesome blend of thrill, suspense, action, emotion and a heavy dose of humour. The humour in the show, in fact, is incandescent. It is what has endeared the show to critics and viewers alike. That, and Manoj Bajpayee’s flawless rendering of Shrikant Tiwari a spy in the guise of an everyman. Priyamani, Sharab Hashmi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Neeraj Madhav, and Sharad Kelkar comprise the rest of the cast, among others.
The Family Man Season 2 will mark the entry of a new character, played by popular South actress Samantha Akkineni. She is reportedly playing one of the antagonists in the new season of the show, a hard-nosed terrorist.
