The streaming release date of Arkasha Stevenson’s The First Omen has been announced. The Nell Tiger Free starrer will arrive on Apple TV and Prime Video soon. Apart from Free, the horror flick has talents like Tawfeek Barhom, Sonia Braga, Bill Nighy, and Ralph Ineson.
The First Omen earned an outstanding response from critics. It received a ‘fresh’ rating of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 169 certified reviews. However, it did not sit well with the audience, who rated it “C” on CinemaScore. In addition, the film’s audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes is lower than the critic score, of 70%.
The film’s low box office collection clearly reflects the audience’s lack of interest in it. It managed to earn over $52 million against its $30 million budget. As for its streaming release, it will arrive on Apple TV and Prime Video on May 28. Then, it will come out on the Hulu streaming platform on May 30.
The First Omen revolves around an American woman who arrives in Rome to serve at a church. There, she stumbles upon a dark secret: a hidden plot to bring forth the embodiment of evil itself, the Antichrist.
