After keeping fans waiting for the longest time, Marvel Entertainment has finally dropped the teaser of its keenly anticipated film, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘. The film releases in cinemas worldwide on July 8, 2022.
The long delay in the release of the first teaser for Thor: Love And Thunder has ensured that it has already set a record for shortest time between the release of its first teaser and release of the film in the theatres. The long delay in the teaser release disappointed fans no end. But the Thor: Love And Thunder teaser is finally here. The 11/2 minute long teaser is not everything we wanted, but at least it’s here; which counts for a lot.
Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor, but in a meditative avatar. He’s no longer King of Asgard. That mantle’s been taken over Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson). The Guardians of the Galaxy are present in full force. There’s even a spot of humour and heart-warming camaraderie between Thor and Starlord (Chris Pratt). We get to see a fleeting back shot of Zeus, God of the Sky. For those who don’t know, dashing actor Russel Crowe is playing Zeus in Thor: Love And Thunder.
The most striking thing about the teaser of Thor: Love And Thunder comes right at the end — a glimpse of Natalie Portman, back as Jane Foster, and most importantly, as the mighty Thor. She wields the Mjolnir will effortless ease, indicating that the baton has already been passed. Incidentally, Natalie Portman’s Jane had last appeared in the MCU in ‘Thor: The Dark World,’
Conspicuous by his absence are Gorr: The God Butcher. Gorr is the primary antagonist in Thor: Love And Thunder. Christian Bale is essaying the role in the film. Also missing from the teaser is Taika Waititi, who’s playing Korg. Taika Waititi is also the director of Thor: Love And Thunder. It’s the second film he’s helming in the MCU, after Thor: Ragnarok.
“These hands were once used for battle, now they’re but humble tools for peace. I need to figure out exactly who I am,” says Thor in the teaser.
