The First Weekend BO of July: Animations and Kalki Reign Proudly!

Weekends usually translate to rest and relaxation. Well, at least for the majority of us.
But is the box office ever presented with the golden opportunity to laze about idly?
Ofcourse not because how else would we have come to the realization that Walt Disney Studios’ ‘Inside Out: 2’ has clocked in a whopping USD 533.8M over the span of 24 days since its release and has already become one of Disney’s highest grossing animated films of all time!
Surpassing the beloved feature is another animated title, ‘Despicable Me: 4′, Universal Pictures’ fourth installment of the beloved franchise starring the tiny, fun-loving yellow creatures men in blue, the minions! The title has gathered a huge sum of USD 122.6M, only 5 days post its release!
Following these is ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’, the alien invasion thriller starring Joseph Quinn, Lupita Nyong’O, and Alex Wolff, with a total global collection of USD 94.3M, over its 10-day theatrical run. A24’s MaXXXine seems to be yet another addition to the fantastic year the studio has had so far, with a USD 6.7M collection, despite having only been released 3 days ago!
‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’, the amicable buddy cop action feature continues to score high at the international box office with a USD 177.4M collection. Warner Bros.’ ‘Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1’ follows with an underwhelming collection of USD 22.2M.
Joshua Weigel’s ‘Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot’, has clocked in at USD 6.8M over its 4-day theatrical run. Austin Butler – Tom Hardy – Jodie Comer starrer ‘The Bikeriders’ continues to perform underwhelmingly, having brought in USD 19.3M over its 17-day release period.
Yorgos Lanthimos’ ‘Kinds of Kindness’ has suffered a similar fate, having garnered only USD 3.8M so far. As expected, however, is  the overwhelming response to Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki: 2898 AD’! The film, having released only in 625 across the world has managed to gather a staggering USD 16M, leaving behind by average even ‘Bad Boys’!
