The Flintstones are probably one of the most loved characters, family and animation in TV history. Even if someone wasn’t able to watch the cartoon or the films or the animated series, they have at least heard of the name The Flintstones.
Now after so many years, the beloved family is making a comeback but with a spin. The upcoming adult comedy animated series will focus on the grown up Pebbles, as she goes through her life in her 20s. The series has already roped in Elizabeth Banks for the voice of Pebbles.
The upcoming sequel has been titled as “Bedrock”. The show will carry forward the lives of Flintstones two decades later from the original. Fred is on the verge of retirement and his daughter Pebbles is ready to start her own career.
The series will have a significant change in the premise, as the Flintstones will get into a brand new age. The show will end the Stone Age period of the original and enter the shiny new Bronze Age. These brand new changes will have its brand new effects on the residents of Bedrock.
Bedrock is being co-produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Fox Entertainment. Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman will executive produce the show. The show comes up as a result of a deal between Banks’ Production House and Warner Bros. Animation. The project has been in works for quite some time as Elizabeth Banks was quite interested in bringing a Flintstones related project to the screens.
The show is coming on after Seth MacFarlane produced a reboot for the original show for Fox Studios, which couldn’t do well. The series for now will start streaming on Fox Studios free streaming app Tubi.
