This pandemic has taken its toll on a lot of industries and the entertainment industry was also affected in a major way. Many of the films chose the digital route amongst all this uncertainty. The theatre owners were scared about the viability of their businesses and just when it felt like things could return to normal it seems like the nation is plunging into another scare.
The number of cases has been increasing in India, earlier the film Haathi Mere Saathi (Kaadan and Aranya will be releasing as planned) decided to postpone their release to an unknown date and today another film ‘Bunty Aur Babli2 ‘ has decided to do the same. YRF is one of the most celebrated production houses in the nation and they had announced a slate of films to get the theatres back on track but the recent surge in cases means that people are hesitant to go out of their houses unless and until it is for really essential services.
Even though only a few films have announced their postponement it feels like there are many on their way to do the same as it won’t be financially viable to release a film in such an unpredictable environment. Interestingly both Haathi Mere Saathi and Bunty Aur Babli 2 would have clashed with other big-name projects like Saina and Thalaivi which would have a further impact on the reach and revenue which is already in a precarious position.
Bunty Aur Babli 2 serves as part of the Bunty Aur Babli franchise and has some top performers like Rani Mukherjee, Saif Ali Khan, and Siddharth Chaturvedi portraying lead roles in it.
