Disney+ Hotstar has dropped the trailer for its upcoming original series ‘The Freelancer’ and its one thrilling action drama. Helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, ‘The Freelancer’ will premiere exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar on 1st September, 2023.
‘The Freelancer’ trailer begins with Inayat Khan (Sushant Singh) who got suspended seven years ago for a case of misconduct but he comes into light when his daughter Aaliya got married recently goes missing with her in-laws.
Turns out Aaliya’s in-laws abduct her to Syria for propagation of Islam. She is kept there unwillingly, tortured and faces violence as she tries to escape. It’s then that Avinash Kamath aka The Freelancer (Mohit Raina) who’s Inayat’s friend and promised to keep his family safe in case something happens to him, enters the scene.
This intercontinental rescue operation soon turns quite dangerous, risky, high alert and escalates pretty quickly. But this freelancer is not going to stop at any cost until he saves his friend’s daughter.
Based on the book ‘A Ticket to Syria’ by Shirish Thorat, ‘The Freelancer’ is touted to a thrilling journey of action and heart-pounding adrenaline rush.
‘The Freelancer’ is created by Neeraj Pandey, who is known for his exemplary works like ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Baby’, ‘M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, ‘Special Ops’, ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’ and more.
Directed by Bhav Dhulia, ‘The Freelancer’ stars Mohit Raina, Anupam Kher, Kashmira Pardeshi, Sushant Singh, Manjari Fadnis, Ayesha Raza, Navneet Malik, Sarah Jane Dias, and John Kokken among others.
