This afternoon, Voot Select unveiled the trailer and the release date for its much-awaited ‘The Gone Game’ Season 2. Viewers will be glad to know that the new season of Voot Select’s successful show ‘The Gone Game’ will premiere on the platform on July 7.
The Gone Game Season 2 trailer promises an equally gripping narrative as the debut season of the show. Season 1 of The Gone Game was a lockdown show, shot completely at home. Despite this, it was a success at Voot Select, receiving appreciation from audiences and critics alike. Now that Covid lockdowns are a thing of the past, the sky is the limit for The Gone Game Season 2. But will the show be able to break the ‘second season jinx’ – when shows don’t impress as much in their second seasons as they do in their debut seasons?
Going by the trailer of The Gone Game Season 2, looks like it just might overcome the aforementioned jinx. The Gujral family finds itself in a bigger mess this season. Sahil Gujral (Arjun Mathur) is on the run after pulling off a ₹300 crore scam. Sahil’s wife Suhani (Shriya Pilgaonkar) threatens to expose the deepest secrets of the Gujral family, but is shot dead just days before. Every member of the family finds themselves a suspect in the national scandal. Are the Gujrals guilty of murder or is there a bigger secret hiding in plain sight?
The Gone Game Season 2 is directed by Abhishek Sengupta and produced by Bodhitree Multimedia. Season 1 had been directed by Nikhil Bhatt. Sanjay Kapoor, Arjun Mathur, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Dibyendu Bhattacharya reprise their roles from the first season. Harleen Sethi enters the show as the police officer investigating Suhani’s murder. Amit Jairath is also a part of the cast of The Gone Game Season 2.
