There will soon be another spin-off for the acclaimed ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ series. Warner Bros. has planned for a batch of new spin-off movies based on the Lord Of The Rings series and this will be the first one. It is titled ‘Search For The Gollum’ and will be releasing in 2026.
Andy Serkis, who played the role of Gollum in the original movie trilogy will be returning to reprise his role. He will also be directing the movie. He has previously helmed directorial projects like Breathe, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. His ‘Animal Farm’ movie is yet to have any announcements. It will be curious to see how the star materializes the film based on the popular character of Gollum.
Peter Jackson, the director of the original film series, will be producing the movie along with others like Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. Alongside this, an animated movie ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’ is all set to release this December and it will have its events two centuries before ‘The Hobbit’.
Serkis has said, “Yesssss, Precious. The time has come once more to venture into the unknown with my dear friends, the extraordinary and incomparable guardians of Middle Earth Peter, Fran and Philippa. With Mike and Pam, and the Warner Bros team on the quest as well, alongside WETA and our filmmaking family in New Zealand, it’s just all too delicious…”
