The official trailer for ‘The Idol‘ has been released. It is a new HBO drama series from the makers of ‘Euphoria’. Deep into the pulp fiction and music and entertainment industry, ‘The Idol’ tells the story of a star. It us directed by Sam Levinson.
It has Lily Rose Depp in the lead role and has actors like Abel Tesfaye, Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Jennie Kim, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Eli Roth and Rachel Sennott in other important roles. The show is created by Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson.
The Idol tells the story of Jocelyn, a celebrity and pop Idol who has to cancel a show during her tour due to having a nervous breakdown. She loses her stardom and popularity soon and wants to regain it. She wants to be the series pop idol in America and takes the help of a self-help guru played by the Weeknd. He happens to be the leader of a contemporary cult as well.
The trailer is raunchy as hell, with erotic shots and music all going in the perfect flow with it. It takes the audience on an inside journey to the pop culture and celebrity workshop idea of the Western world. The performances look too convincing and obviously the music is just wonderful. The show is going to premiere on the 4th of June.
