Shantaram, like one of the Indian projects Paani, seems to be jinxed from the start. After years, it finally looked like everything is set for a non-stop shoot, but, unfortunately, the production has come to a grinding halt again.
The reason for temporarily pulling the plug on Shantaram is its showrunner cum writer, Eric Warren Singer. The writer has apparently not completed the script for the show. So far, only two of the ten episodes are written. Incidentally, the shooting of those two was over before Christmas itself.
A new schedule was expected to begin a few days ago. But with no scrip at hand, the makers had no choice but to call off the shooting. The whole thing has been indefinitely put on hold.
