The Kashmir Files Beats Dangal on Day 8. Being Dubbed In 4 Languages

Ever since the release of National Film Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s latest directorial ‘The Kashmir Files’ on the big screens last Friday, the film has arguably created an unprecedented response from cinephiles across the country. The film’s mind-boggling box-office numbers can perhaps only be surpassed through its hard-hitting impact and the widespread admiration it has received from audiences, critics, and the film circuit.

The Kashmir Files’ has reportedly collected a massive Rs.129.95 crores at the box office worldwide in the first eight days of its release (as per Zee Studios). In fact, the film’s eighth-day box office collections (Rs.19.15 crores) have ostensibly surpassed the likes of Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ and are just behind S.S. Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘Baahubali 2’.

And it seems that the film is on its way to cross the box-office milestone of Rs.150 crores this weekend itself. That would be incredible considering some resistance by the recent theatrical release of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchhan Paandey’.

After its astounding critical and commercial success so far, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is now being dubbed in four regional languages namely Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam and these versions are expected to soon release in theatres. The same was also confirmed by the film’s director Vivek Agnihotri himself while replying to a Twitter post.

Written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, ‘The Kashmir Files’ revolves around the sensitive subject matter pertaining to the exodus of Kashmiris Hindus, also known as Kashmiri Pandits, during the 1990s period due to the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir. ‘The Kashmir Files’ features veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Pallavi Joshi alongside ‘The Family Man’ actor Darshan Kumar in important roles.
