Vivek Agnihotri is bringing a new series on the Kashmir massacres. His film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was an unprecedented success and now there will be a series on the same subject. The audiences were divided in two sides over the film and while many fans told it was a truthful depiction of the murders while another group said that it was just a blunt propaganda film.
The series is named ‘The Kashmir Files Unreported’ and it is a Zee5 original. The show will premiere on the 11th of August. It will be a documentary with seven episodes in total and it will be covered from the research and documentation that the makers had to do for the film.
The series was announced when Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid had criticized The Kashmir Files as a propaganda film. Vivek Agnihotri, the director, has said that this docu series will be dealing with the lesser known facts of the Kashmiri Hindu exodus and will tell stories that are kept untold so far.
Vivek Agnihotri and Pallavi Joshi, the actor from The Kashmir Files, will be there as anchors in the show. ‘The Kashmir Files Unreported ‘ will take audiences through the history of the division of India to all the troubles that the citizens had to go through, to the recent unsettling situations as well.
The news has definitely gathered criticism from a lot of people but fans are equally excited for the film. They definitely want a more fact based, cognitive tale of what happened in the valley.
