Before we begin with the review, let’s clarify that it is NOT Binged’s review of The Killer. This article strictly focuses on the reports that we have received from major Hollywood portals and we will be posting our dedicated review when the film releases on Netflix.
Let’s begin.
When there is a thrill not to leave your jaw dropped but to shake your soul then you can safely assume that it might be a David Fincher film. When the visuals grab your eyes and an eeriness tries to capture your conscience then you can be pretty sure that it is a David Fincher film.
There can be no doubt about the fact that he is a sort of genius filmmaker but not every film by him can be a masterpiece and we must acknowledge that. In his illustrious career, David Fincher has given us movies like Fight Club, Se7en, Zodiac, Gone Girl and more. But does his latest venture at Netflix contain the same magic?
Let’s find out what the Hollywood media is saying.
“The Killer.” This American neo-noir action thriller, based on the acclaimed French graphic novel series, promises to be a rollercoaster of suspense, violence, and secrets.
Michael Fassbender takes the lead as a professional assassin known simply as “The Killer.” He operates by a stringent code of conduct, never allowing emotions or improvisation to cloud his judgment. His meticulous approach to his deadly trade is challenged when a hit in Paris goes disastrously wrong. Instead of eliminating his target, a wealthy businessman named Claybourne, an innocent bystander meets an untimely end.
So how is The Killer? If we happen to believe the Hollywood portals then the movie is getting varied opinions. However, the majority is overwhelmingly on the positive side. The reviews are praising the movie for its narrative, storyline and overall directions. However, there are some complaints about the supposed shock factor which is not as shocking as people expected it to be.
Perhaps The Killer is more of a psychological thriller than a crime thriller and it is always the case with David Fincher. As the killer fails to achieve his target, it is a sort of turn-off to some reviewers who expected the genius murderer to do the deed. The Guardian went on calling The Killer a philosopher and rightly so.
As fans of David Fincher’s work eagerly await this latest cinematic masterpiece, “The Killer” promises to be a heart-pounding thriller that will leave its mark in the world of neo-noir cinema. It’s a story of survival, vengeance, and unravelling the secrets of a shadowy world where trust is a rare commodity, and danger lurks around every corner. Mark your calendars for November 10th, when this thrilling journey begins streaming on Netflix.
