Some time back, Hollywood heaved a sigh of relief when it was announced that the writers had reached a deal with the studios and the five-month strike was finally put to an end. And now, Hollywood is gearing up to resume production schedules for some of its major big-screen and small-screen projects. And one of the latter includes the eagerly anticipated second season of HBO’s widely admired post-apocalyptic horror series ‘The Last Of Us’.
Earlier this year, the show was renewed for a second season. And as per the latest update, the makers have reportedly zeroed in on the actor who will essay an important role in The Last Of Us Season-2’. Some of you might already know that ‘The Last of Us’ S2 is expected to be based on the story of ‘The Last of Us Part II’ video game, in which a character named Abby played an important part. It looks like the role of Abby will be played by the talented Emmy-nominated actress Kaitlyn Dever.

For those who haven’t played ‘The Last Of Us’ game series, Abby was an important character, who acted as a parallel playable protagonist and also an antagonist. In the final episode of ‘The Last Of Us’ series, Pedro Pascal’s character Joel kills a Firefly surgeon to save Ellie. Abby was the daughter of this surgeon and that’s why she is hellbent on avenging her father’s death by killing Joel. So, Abby should be portrayed as kind of an anti-hero in ‘The Last Of Us’ Season-2.

Now that Kaitlyn Dever will most likely step into Abby’s shoes in ‘The Last Of Us Season-2’, fans can be assured that the character will get the respect and presence it deserves in the series as well. Kaitlyn Dever, who was last seen in the alien invasion thriller movie ‘No One Will Save You’, had earlier showcased her acting chops in shows like ‘Justified’, ‘Dopesick’, and ‘Unbelievable’, amongst others.
HBO’s widely acclaimed horror-adventure series ‘The Last of Us’ revolves around two characters Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and is set in the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world affected by a mass fungal infection. The basic premise is that Joel, a hardened smuggler, is hired to transport a teenager Ellie across the country, while protecting her from omnipresent dangers.
