Netflix has revealed some viewer statistics of the past few months and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that these numbers look quite good. The biggest mystery behind what’s successful on OTT and what not has always perplexed everyone and the reason behind it has been the pindrop silence maintained by the OTT platforms as to how many times was a title viewed.
But for a change Netflix has initiated revealing some stats and figures to public regarding some of the best content available on the streaming giant. This time we got the following facts from Netflix –
Enola Holmes – 76 Million views (First four weeks)
This latest Netflix detective film starring Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill and Sam Claflin in the lead, that released on 23rd September is on its way “to reach 76 million members during its first four weeks on Netflix”.
The Old Guard – 78 Million views (First four weeks)
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and featuring Charlize Theron, “The Old Guard was officially the most popular title on Netflix this quarter”.
American Murder: The Family Next Door – 52 Million views (Projected viewership in first 28 days)
This true crime investigative documentary is very close to creating a record of being the “number 1 most-watched documentary feature film ever on Netflix”.
Project Power – 75 Million views (First four weeks)
Featuring stars like Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jamie Fox, Project Power that released on 14th August attracted a massive viewership.
The Kissing Booth 2 – 66 Million views (First four weeks)
This teen romantic comedy sequel film with Joey King in the lead also made it to the list of some of the most viewed titles on Netflix.
Ratched – 48 Million views (First 28 days)
Ryan Murphy‘s Ratched starring Sarah Paulson became Netflix’s biggest original Season 1 of the year with these numbers.
The viewership numbers are calculated by Netflix using its own 2 minute metric system, wherein a film or a series is considered watched if its played for atleast 2 minutes on any screen.
Prior to this, Netflix had released another list of some of the most viewed titles on the global streaming giant and they include –
Extraction – 99 million views
Bird Box – 89 million views
Spenser Confidential – 85 million views
6 Underground – 83 million views
Murder Mystery – 83 million views
The Witcher – 76 million views
The Old Guard – 72 million views
Money Heist (Season 4) – 65 million views
Tiger King (Limited Series) – 64 million views
The Irishman – 64 million views
From the above list it’s pretty clear that none of the new titles were able to come even close to Chris Hemsworth starrer “Extraction’s” record of 99 million views. In fact they are still quite far from some of the other titles of the last list as well.
What was your favourite from the list of titles released on Netflix last month?
