We don’t really have many animated shows in India. Yes, there is a huge potential in this sector but animation is more or less still considered to be a thing for kids which is kinda outdated in 2024. Hotstar itself made “Baahubali: Crown of Blood” which at best is ridiculous in terms of animation style and content.
On the other hand, The Legend of Hanuman is slightly better. The cast for this production boasts an impressive ensemble: Sanket Mhatre voices the noble Shree Ram, while Surbhi Pandey embodies the virtuous Sita. Damandeep Singh Baggan brings to the valiant Hanuman. Vikrant Chaturvedi plays the loyal Sugreev, and Richard Joel embodies the steadfast Lakshmana. Ravana is portrayed by Sharad Kelkar, with Rohan Jadav voicing the character in his younger years. Finally, Shakti Singh rounds out the cast as the wise Jambavana.
The first two episodes of the fourth season is now streaming and it is about Kumbhkarna. The portrayal of Ravana’s brother is very caricaturish as the demon more than anything else was a profound sage who knew that Ravana was wrong in abducting Seeta.
Regardless, the series is now streaming and those interested must check it out. Given the scarcity of animated originals in India, The Legend of Hanuman is a good one.
