We are less than a month away from getting The Mandalorian Season 3. The last season’s finale showcased the heartbreaking separation of Din Djarin and Grogu. However, the duo reunited in The Book of Boba Fett, laying the groundwork for the upcoming Season 3. The latest trailer shows Din seeking forgiveness and putting efforts into reclaiming his Mandalorian title after removing his helmet multiple times. Plus, he has Grogu with him this time. So, he also has to train him in the ways of his kind. And how can we forget about Moff Gideon? He wants Grogu for his ambitious force-cloning procedure.
The official trailer for Season 3 came out a few days ago, treasuring breathtaking action sequences and alluring frames. And it has certainly filled fans with countless theories about the forthcoming season. Some of them may even come true. How about we take a quick look at some of them?
Origins of the First Order
Carson Teva, a skilled pilot from the New Republic, warns about the rise of a dark threat. Many fans believe that the character hinted at the origin story of the First Order – the pseudo-Empire formed after the fall of the Galactic Empire. First Order was well-established and powerful during the events of the Sequel Trilogy. And this theory makes sense, considering Luke Skywalker and the Rebels destroyed the Galactic Empire in Return of the Jedi (1983). And the events of The Mandalorian take place approximately five years after that incident.
Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader may appear in Season 3
The latest trailer also showcases a new flashback scene from Grogu’s perspective. We have watched many versions of Order 66 and its aftereffects on prominent Star Wars characters over the years. And we also know that it all started with Anakin who turned himself to the Dark Side and slaughtered the innocent force-sensitive kids, ultimately playing a crucial role in the destruction of the Jedi Temple. Hayden Christensen may return as Anakin in Season 3 for a cameo. The chances of Ahsoka’s guest appearance are great too. Who knows? We may even find out who saved Grogu from that massacre.
Will Din Djarin take over Mandalore?
Bo-Katan Kryze wants to rule Mandalore and acquire the Darksaber. But Din stands in her path as he is the current holder of the Darksaber. And whoever holds the sword is worthy of ruling Mandalore. Will we see them both going one-on-one with each other to conquer the throne? Or will Din help Bo-Katan in reconquering her home planet? We all know that Pedro Pascal’s protagonist doesn’t need that throne. What he actually wants is forgiveness and his Mandalore status back. Also, helping Bo-Katan will forge his friendship with her. And this friendship may come in handy for him at any time. Furthermore, he may even take the ‘Children of the Watch’ under his wing.
The Mandalorian Season 3 will premiere on March 1 on Disney+ Hotstar. Stay tuned for more updates.
