The Mandalorian Season 4 Is A Go Despite The New Star Wars Movie

Rumours about Lucasfilm burying The Mandalorian Season 4 are red hot right now. This is due to the recently announced The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, which made many fans believe that the studio would eventually scrap Season 4. However, one of the show’s key cast members has given an exciting update about the fourth season.

The on-screen Bo-Katan Kryze, Katee Sackhoff, recently appeared on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast ‘Inside of You’, where she hinted at the possibility of The Mandalorian Season 4. While talking with Rosenbaum, the actress discloses that “the next season of Mando hasn’t started yet.”

This is the first reference that has surfaced online regarding The Mandalorian Season 4, following the recent announcement of The Mandalorian and Grogu film. Sackhoff’s words make sense as there’s a lot of story to cover after the events of Season 3. Given how the third season ended, many arcs need to be concluded. After all, we cannot expect a single movie to cover everything.

However, we also have to keep in mind that the interview was recorded a long time ago, maybe before the film’s announcement. We do not know whether Sackhoff was talking about Season 4 or the new Star Wars movie.

There is another rumour that complicates this scenario. According to the rumour, The Mandalorian Season 4 would be only six episodes long. Considering Season 4’s low episode count compared to its predecessors, Lucasfilm may have transformed Season 4 into a feature project. An official announcement from Lucasfilm will further clarify this messy situation.

Season 3 ended with Din Djarin accepting a contract work from Carson Teva, who represents the New Republic. It means we may see Pedro Pascal’s character returning to his bounty-hunting roots in Season 4, indirectly aiding the New Republic in taking care of the other members of the Imperial Shadow Council. Although, Din doesn’t know that other warlords have united secretly. This would surely make things more difficult for Grogu’s father to conduct his operations smoothly and successfully.

Moreover, we cannot ignore Grand Admiral Thrawn here. Din Djarin’s upcoming missions may tie his fate with Thrawn in The Mandalorian Season 4, leading towards the potential appearance of Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka in the fourth season. Let’s see where the world of Star Wars heads now. Stay tuned for more updates.
