The Marvels: Disaster Movie Sets Digital Release Date

“The Marvels,” the mega flop superhero film, took the MCU by storm with its release on November 10, marking the continuation of the Captain Marvel saga. Unfortunately, the storm was not in a good sense and it destroyed the MCU to the extent that the top command is blaming COVID conditions for the poor performance of the film.
Directed by Nia DaCosta, the film stars Brie Larson reprising her role as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel. This trio forms “the Marvels,” flying on a draining adventure as they find themselves swapping places whenever they unleash their powers.

The movie, a sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel and tied to the Ms. Marvel miniseries from 2022, introduces a narrative within Phase Five of the MCU. However, despite the star-studded cast and high expectations, “The Marvels” faced criticism for its script and overall existence.

Premiering in Las Vegas on November 7, the film grossed $205 million globally against a production budget of $274.8 million, making it one of the lowest-grossing films in the MCU. Regrettably, “The Marvels” fell short of breaking even in its theatrical run, and dropped like a box-office bomb.

Despite the financial setback, fans can catch “The Marvels” on digital platforms starting January 16. We doubt if it would be worth of time but if you wanna catch up with the MCU, you have January 16 coming up.
