The three titles in The Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy are — The Three Body-Problem, The Dark Forest, and Death’s End. The narrative spans several generations, and over 450 years, with time jumps and alternate universes adding to the intrigue.
The story chronicles humankind’s first contact with an alien civilization and the quagmire arising from the contact. Suffice to say, it is an ultra-unique story, the likes never attempted into a series before.
Announcing the series in the Netflix press release, Benioff and Weiss were quoted as saying,
“Liu Cixin’s trilogy is the most ambitious science-fiction series we’ve read, taking readers on a journey from the 1960s until the end of time, from life on our pale blue dot to the distant fringes of the universe. We look forward to spending the next years of our lives bringing this to life for audiences around the world.”
