Netflix has dropped the trailer of its highly awaited vintage murder mystery drama ‘The Pale Blue Eye’ and the eerie feeling can be felt through out. Helmed by Scott Cooper, ‘The Pale Blue Eye’ is based on the novel by Louis Bayard and will release in select theatres in the U.S. on 23rd December, 2022 and on Netflix on 6th January, 2023.
The ‘Pale Blue Eye’ trailer is set in and around West Post Military Academy in 1830, where a cadet is found hanging but the intriguing part is that his heart was carved out from his chest. To investigate the case veteran detective Augustus Landor (Christian Bale) is called in who tries to decipher the mystery behind the murder.
In order to get the inside information that’s critical for the case Landor befriends a cadet Edgar Ellen Poe (Harry Melling), who helps him with the case. While together they try to unravel the mystery behind the gruesome murder another cadet goes missing, making the case more complicated.
The trailer also reveals there’s something sinister happening involving cheating death and instructions for immortality and someone might actually be trying for the same resulting in such grisly murders. Will Landor and Poe solve the mystery and find the murderer or get entangled in it themselves?
Written and directed by Scott Cooper, ‘The Pale Blue Eye’ follows a world-weary detective hired to discretely investigate the gruesome murder of a cadet. Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, he enlists one of his own to help unravel the case – a young man the world came to know as Edgar Ellen Poe.
