Imagine a poster being headlined by both: ‘DC’ and ‘Max Original’! Groundbreaking already, right? Well, that’s not where it ends. All ready to set cinema enthusiasts’ imaginations on fire, the beautifully shot trailer for ‘The Penguin’ a DC and Max collaboration, was released earlier today.
Narrating the chronicle of Oswald Cobblepot and his journey from a disfigured nobody to a noted Gotham gangster, the Collin Farell starrer has already sent the internet into a frenzy. Retelling the tale of his gritty life, Cobblepot sits in the eerie shadows as the future of the Batman Saga, all ready to unleash himself upon the city of Gotham.
From coveted filmmaker Matt Reeves, the series seems like it follows the archetypical plotline of the Batman series – a good heart, hardened by society – the dark monotones, and the rugged background score lay the foundation of a spectacular watch.
It seems to have all the components of a gripping thriller: uncontrolled violence, explosions and guns, possible betrayal, and photomontages of the underworld. With people screaming all around, the question that looms is: does it matter that you’re remembered? or does it matter more what you’re remembered for?
In accordance with Shakespeare’s words, to be or not to be, is infact, the real question. Stay tuned as Cobblepot and Co. navigate their way through the crime-ridden streets of Gotham city!
