Collin Farrell has somehow managed to turn the people’s demand from The Batman 2 to more of The Penguin. And as much as we love his portrayal of Oswald Cobblepot, the actor himself has never enjoyed the tedious process of getting into the looks of the character through the prosthetics and makeup. So much so, he even mentioned that he wanted the project to be over so that he gets to never put it on again. However, despite the possibility of not seeing him again, the penguin will be seen in the next part of Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2.
This is coming to us while we just had our final episode of The Penguin. The character as of now is kind of in a weird situation. His mother is in a vegetative state. He had to kill his associate and the closest thing he had for a friend, Victor. But at the same time, most of the falcons are gone, and his nemesis throughout the series, Sofia, played by Cristin Millioti, is in Arkham.
The Penguin ends with the Batsignal shining in the Gotham skies. Which made it obvious that the two will eventually cross paths again. And Collin Ferrell has made it clear as he mentioned that he has few scenes in The Batman: Part Two.
In fact, Reeves himself had confirmed this prior to this. However, Farrell’s distaste for the costume made it a little ambiguous. The movie will have its release in 2026.
