Netflix has dropped the trailer for its upcoming original series ’The Railway Men’ and its one heart wrenching tale of a man made disaster. Helmed by Shiv Rawail, ‘The Railway Men’ is set to land on Netflix on 18th November, 2023.
‘The Railway Men’ trailer begins just before the The Bhopal Gas tragedy with people going around with their normal lives unaware of the catastrophe that awaits them. In the first half the trailer briefly introduces the viewers to the main characters that include those played by Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma, Babil Khan and R. Madhavan who are railway employees.
When a lethal gas leaks from the union carbide plant in Bhopal these four men come forward to save the lives of as many as they can with minimum or no support. There’s also a media angle led by Sunny Hinduja shown in the trailer where he tries to expose the truth.
Touted to be a character driven thriller and inspired by true stories, ‘The Railway Men’ is a show based on the deadly gas leak in the central Indian city of Bhopal. A cloud of toxic gas escaped from a pesticide plant, on the night of 2nd December 1984, in the city of Bhopal that injured and claimed thousands of lives. This is the untold story of the unsung heroes, who rose to the occasion that night to save the city and its people. This is the story of their courage, their sense of duty and their humanity.
A four part series, ‘The Railway Men’ is directed by debutant director Shiv Rawail and stars R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma and Babil Khan in lead roles. The limited series also stars Juhi Chawla and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. ‘The Railway Men’ will premiere only on Netflix on 18th November, 2023.
