Why? No Indian series has done it in the past. Also, The Railway Men got above-average reviews. It is nothing extraordinary like Scoop or Kohrra.
But, they have done the deed. The Railway Men has come out victorious to the extent that no other series has achieved so far.
So what is the record? Well, The Railway Men has come out to be the third most-watched non-English series last week globally. No other Indian series has ever gotten even in the top 5 and The Railway Men placed itself in the Top 3. It is indeed a great achievement and something that Netflix India would need for inspiration.
The horrifying premise and bold attempt attracted many people to watch the series and the result is obvious. It barged into the list even in the debut week but not as high as that.
As you can see above, it was the third most-watched series and it is a big deal.
Regardless, 2023 has been an extraordinary year for the Netflix series. By the end of the year, we also have great commercial success and not just great reviews. It is a great time for Netflix to start the award campaign of The Railway Men. Let’s see what happens.
