‘Poison‘ is an Indian crime, action and revenge thriller Indian web series. It is streaming on ZEE5 with 11 episodes. It starred Tanuj Virwani, Arbaaz Khan, Riya Sen and Freddy Daruwala among other actors. Earlier, ZEE5 had announced this show’s season 2!
Aftab Shivdasani and Raai Lakshmi will be playing the lead roles. Other actors include Pooja Chopra, Vin Rana, Rahul Dev, Zain Imam, Asmita Sood, and Taher Shabbir.
This new season is directed by Vishal Pandya, who is best known for his prior projects- Hate Story franchise and Wajah Tum Ho. The team has started shooting again and Vishal revealed that has been difficult. “It is difficult to shoot with these restrictions and all because what happens is ek hota hai paper likh kar aana (rules and regulations written on paper) that’s a different thing and implementing it that is a different thing. Social distancing (exists) and then (the) unit strength is also less. It takes time,” said the director. He added, “We changed a lot of scenes where one actor doesn’t have to touch the other actor. They have to maintain two to three feet distance. Somewhere, we are compromising from a creative point of view — I think it’s going to be with everyone.”
Actor Aftab, during an interview, assured that sufficient precautions are taken and safety of the entire cast and crew is prioritised. “It felt good to be back on sets, doing what I love. Every one of us will have to get back to work to sustain ourselves. We better get used to the new normal. The set had all safety measures in place, and we would regularly wash and sanitise our hands.”
Vishal Pandaya also talked about the discomfort everyone is experiencing due to masks & PPE suits and at the same time expressed his respect for each and every person working to help the citizens. “Today, I salute all the front line warriors, doctors and everyone because we wore the PPE kit for just half a day and I can see the reaction. So, I salute all the doctors for what they are doing,” he said.
The first season of ‘Poison’ was a story of revenge. A man, falsely accused of rape & murder returns after completing his prison sentence – for a crime he didn’t commit! He then chooses to seek revenge from all who had wronged him. Season two will have a completely different story but the central theme will remain same- REVENGE!
